KPIS International School Bangkok (KPIS)
A Thai-majority American-curriculum school in Bangkok, founded 2005, running from Nursery to Grade 12 with the AP Capstone Diploma. Fees sit well below the tier-one international schools.
In brief
KPIS International School Bangkok has taught an American curriculum in Bang Khen, about 20km from central Bangkok, since 2005. Founded by a Thai family, it now takes around 550 pupils aged 3–18, has held full WASC accreditation since 2009, and offers AP courses, with 74 per cent of students scoring 3 or higher on AP exams across 2020–2023. Dew Intakanok has been Head of School since August 2016 after a long prior spell as Academic Director. Annual fees run from THB 348,000 in nursery to 544,000 in the senior grades, and the school sits mid-tier in Bangkok's international market.
The people draw the warmest comment. Teachers are repeatedly described as friendly, approachable and supportive; one former pupil said they "were like friends" and praised the music and theatre facilities, and one alumnus reports serious investment in extracurricular kit, from 3D printers and F1 simulators to recording space.
The criticism on record is older. Reviews from 2017 flagged unprofessional management and weak parent communication, and later commentary has not overturned that account.

Reviews
- An American-curriculum school in Bang Khen, about 20km from central Bangkok, founded 2005 by a Thai family.
- Reviewers consistently single out friendly staff and approachable teachers; one ex-student said teachers "were like friends" and praised the music and theatre facilities.
- Mid-tier in Bangkok's international market; one teacher asked openly because "all I've found is from years ago", flagging that signal stays thin and management/work-culture queries recur.
- Older reviews (2017) flagged "unprofessional management" and weak parent communication; newer commentary is quieter but does not actively dispute it.
- Strong investment in extracurricular kit (3D printers, F1 simulators, recording space) reported by an alumnus.
Positives
- Teachers and staff. Repeatedly described as friendly, approachable and supportive.
- Facilities and extracurriculars. Music, theatre, 3D printing, simulator and photography kit cited by one alumnus.
Considerations
- Tier and management. Not in Bangkok's top tier; older reviews criticised management and parent communication, more recent signal is sparse.
- Information drought. Prospective teachers and parents repeatedly note how little has been written about the school recently.
