The Harbour School has run an international programme in Hong Kong since 2007, teaching ages 5–18 with an Advanced Placement pathway, WASC accreditation and EARCOS membership. The school reports an overall AP average of 4.32 for 2024, with 82 per cent of scores at 4 or 5 and 54 per cent at the top mark of 5. Head of school Dr Jadis Blurton is a licensed clinical psychologist with a doctorate in developmental psychology and a master's in special education for gifted learners.

Staff paint a consistent picture of the classroom: small classes, strong colleagues, freedom to design courses around individual students, and a particular fit for children who need learning support or extension. The same staff voices turn sharply critical on leadership, repeatedly flagging low pay, unclear procedures, heavy workload and uneven management support.

Annual fees run from HKD 202,600 in Junior Grade 1 to HKD 259,500 in Grades 9–12, with one-time charges on top: an application fee, entry fees, and a Family Admissions Right of HKD 450,000.

  • Staff comments repeatedly praise the students, colleagues, small classes, creative teaching freedom, and the school's fit for children needing learning support or extension.
  • The same staff signal is sharply mixed on leadership, with teachers flagging low pay, weak support, unclear procedures, and pressure from parents or management.
  • Parent-facing public discussion is limited, so the clearest caution is internal consistency rather than broad family dissatisfaction.

Positives

  • Creative and supportive student environment. Teachers describe small classes, strong colleagues, and room to design courses around students, with particular value for learners who need support or extension.

Considerations

  • Leadership and staffing concerns. Staff reviews repeatedly flag low pay, limited benefits, unclear procedures, heavy workload, and uneven management support.
  • Limited parent signal. There is little independent parent discussion in the public review pool, so family-facing conclusions should stay cautious.
