If you want a genuinely project-based, small-school environment in central Taipei with AP qualifications and strong links to Canadian universities, VIS is worth a serious look. It is new and small, so visit and ask hard questions about long-term accreditation and university recognition before committing.

If your children are in Grades 1-8 and you want a genuinely small, values-led American-curriculum school with more personal attention than TAS can offer, TAAS is worth a visit. The Yangmingshan hillside setting is unusual, but the distance from central Taipei is real.

If you need a French-curriculum school in Taipei that won't cost what TES charges, LIFT is the only credible option. It's still young and growing - secondary only runs to 4ème so far - so check the year groups before assuming it covers your child's age.

If you want the most radically different educational experience in Taipei - no grades, no homework, fully self-directed - Acton is genuinely that. It's not a fit for every child, and the trial week process is there for a reason. Visit first.

If you are committed to authentic Montessori education and want genuine bilingual English-Chinese delivery from early years through to age 15, TIMES is the only AMI-certified option in Taipei. It is a small school designed for parents who understand and want the Montessori model - not a progressive alternative to consider as a fallback.
