In Brief
German European School Singapore is a unique dual-language international school founded in 1971, serving 1,800 students from over 60 nationalities with both German curriculum and full IB continuum pathways. Located on a modern Dairy Farm campus, published 2026/27 GST-inclusive tuition spans about S$28,900–44,000 depending on section and year group (German Section and European IB bands differ), plus a development levy and entrance fee per the school's schedule.
Established in 1971 as a not-for-profit institution, GESS operates two distinct educational tracks on its modern Dairy Farm campus that opened in 2018. The German Section follows traditional German curriculum leading to the German International Abitur, while the European Section delivers the complete IB continuum from Early Years through Diploma Programme. This dual-pathway approach serves families seeking either German educational qualifications or internationally recognized IB credentials, with both sections emphasizing multilingual development in German, English, and additional languages including Spanish, French, and Mandarin.
The school's campus features sustainable architecture with specialized facilities including a 400-seat auditorium, Olympic-standard indoor swimming pool, modern science laboratories, and dedicated STEAM spaces. GESS has developed notable industry partnerships with companies like BMW, Siemens, and Volocopter, providing students with internship opportunities and real-world STEM experiences through their 'BeyondClassrooms' programme. The competitive swimming programme under coach Ivan Bunakov has achieved international recognition, reflecting the school's commitment to excellence across academic and athletic pursuits.
