Established in 2010 as the international arm of the prestigious Hwa Chong Institution, HCIS builds on over a century of educational excellence dating back to The Chinese High School founded by philanthropist Tan Kah Kee in 1919. The school maintains the founding institution's commitment to bilingualism and biculturalism while delivering the full IB continuum from ages 3-18. Principal Eric Moss leads operations across preschool, primary, and secondary divisions, with governance connected to the broader Hwa Chong network under Principal Pang Choon How.

Located at 61 Bukit Tinggi Road adjacent to Hwa Chong Institution's main campus, the school spans 10 hectares with modern facilities including 50+ classrooms, science laboratories, maker spaces, performing arts theatre, 25-meter swimming pool, and boarding houses accommodating 300 students.
